Apparently the block was not as imposing as it was depicted. Thursday had no idea it was supposed to be working today. It wonders when the update was put up, since it checked earlier... ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Please remember to vote everyday!

Turning a fearsome creature into a childish toy... very similar to real world Godzilla really. Also wolves. This implies that there were Dino breeders / tamers back in the day. Semi pokemon breeders.
My God this anima stuff is so great.

Wow I was right for once. They do have the ability to alter their animas.
Also I wonder if we can assume that each jump is a thousand years or so. It would seem about right...

I'm sure nothing bad could possibly come of surgically altering your soul(?) for aesthetic reasons. Nope, not at all.

Oh, that's the difference between the third and fourth panel. In the fourth, you see the scar tissue.
The cow girl could physically touch animae. Could that be the ability needed for anima splicing?

Designer Animas. Called it in spec, heh. I'm thankful for Jo's sense of being.
Anyway. I dread when Pete shows us the scars from Zoe's point of view. It's gonna be creepy.
Also, if the new seer can see all these scars every day, that means everyone's anima will look like a scarred up zombie to her? Ew.

Maya says Zoe should get an enhancement, but I notice HER anima doesn't have any scars. She sees what the enhancements do, and she doesn't want it on her own anima.

Maybe her anima is just pretty enough as it is. Looks pretty similar to the "trendy" ones already. I'll bet cowgirl had something to do with the anima modification and the shankrafts probably had a hand in turning monsters into pets.

Not necessarily - we don't know whether we see Maya's anima from Zoƫ's perspective (as we see the other animas from her perspective in Panel 4), or whether we are seeing Maya's anima through our own (non-seer) perspectives, as we see the animas in the rest of the panels.
