It's the name of a fellow classically noted for being less than honest.

I would hazard that if Nate's Demon Mark were sensitive to magic, it might be itching something fierce right about now.

I have +4 in mental conflicts as well, and this seems like a mental conflict.

If for some reason I can't, can I use a science roll to make a logical appeal to my senses? I saw Radun myself. We saved him ourselves. The man standing before us is Radun and I have no reason to believe otherwise. This land also has mind altering magic, I saw so myself. These thoughts are not my own.

At any point you wish, including right now, you may spend a FATE point to make your Demon Mark temporarily sensitive to magic. (The sensitivity waxes and wanes unpredictably - it's sensitive enough when it's not important that you can figure out that magic makes it itch sometimes, but it's only sensitive when the matter is important if fate is in your favour, which is if you spend the point).

I keep forgetting about your sidekick.

You are perfectly right; your +4 sidekick bonus will prevent you from falling for this spell. (It won't prevent your sidekick from falling for it, though).

Am I right in remembering that Arkady can try to make a deliberate mysteries roll to learn more, but if he screws up he can get burned?

Using his Psychic stunt, Arkady may deliberately lower his psychic defenses in order to pick up on traces of magic, resonances of important historical events, and so forth. However, this leaves him particularly vulnerable to hostile psychic entities, such as hostile magic users.

This is very useful when investigating a scene in which a spell was cast, or looking into something that happened in the past (investigating a murder scene) or similar; using it on the Queen's Crystal throne, for example, gave him a brief vision of parts of the spell that created said crystal. Using it in the presence of a known or suspected hostile magic user will give Arkady more information, but will also, at the very least, automatically fail his save against the spell - he'll close his eyes, open his mind, and when he opens his eyes again he'll be convinced that the Primate's witnesses are all truthful, regardless of contradictory evidence. And if the hostile caster *notices* Arkady's temporary weakness, he can always deliberately exploit it further...

So until he actually learns magic Arkady is playing with fire with his bare hands. Wait until it burns down. Got it.

I think I have a plan to find the spellcaster, but someone will have to make a few jury-rigged modifications to a radio, preferably without drawing attention to themselves.

I could maybe cover that with my universal gadget, I rarely use that. What are you wanting?

Essentially I want to take apart the antenna on the radio and turn it from omnidirectional, into a directional loop antenna, the hide it in something inconspicuous like a book. From there, it should be pretty easy to find out who is using magic, based on the strength of the signal when the antenna is pointed at diffrent people.

The trouble is doing all that unnoticed by anyone else.

If you want to use your universal gadget to have a detector of some kind, I'd say go for it. I can mention it in game to keep things smooth.

That would certainly be plausible. We've got at least one got bug in this city that an RDF could be useful with, and might be contemplating using more.

Plausible, yes, though having it ready and in your pocket will require use of Universal Gadget. You'd easily be able to pick up the strongest source of radio noise in the room.
