I've been working on a concurrent timeline visualization of events that have happened, and I wanted to share the work-in-progress for some feedback.

But I don't know how to share an image here, since copying the image into the body of the post doesn't work.

Any advice?

There's a few things you could possibly mean, so I'll go with this first. Assuming you have the image hosted somewhere on the net and you can direct link to it, you will need to put the URL inside of the img tag for it to show up.
Code:
[img]http://www.hostingsite.hst/yourimage.pic[/img]

Example:
[img]https://static.sluggy.com/images/newsimages/news171002-2.png[/img]
Image
Or you could just put the full URL for it instead and people will have to click on it to see it: http://static.sluggy.com/images/newsima ... 1002-2.png is automatically turned it into a link (and possibly shorten what is displayed). As long as you have http:// in front of it, it should work.

If this is not the problem you are running into, let me know and I'll try to help.

Ah, I guess I shall have to find somewhere on the net to put it then.

Thanks!

If you hadn't found a place to host them yet, there are a few ways to do that.

Something quick and simple would be Imgur. You don't have to sign up to upload an image, but it helps. Just click on "New post" at the top and it should be fairly self explanatory.

A little more complicated would be if you had Google Drive, Dropbox, or something like that. Only thing is with those, it will only link to a page where the image is located at these sites. Which may be more than sufficient for what you are doing.

It seems I can access imgur in China, so maybe I'll try that later today. I can't access any google products (except google maps), dropbox, or Onedrive etc.

Oh that's right, I forgot that you did say you were going China for a few months. Well hopefully Imgur works for you.
