The Oasis memories and reactions makes me think she is like a time bomb ready to explode.

I'd agree. And her reaction to Torg in Dec 29th's strip was certainly tense!

So far each memory has been about her painting. Maybe her mind is piecing together what it was she was really trying to paint...

The paintings are definitely pieces of a larger whole.

I love being wrong! What a great reveal.

Wonder how it fits into Orsintos "weaponizing ghosts."

Speaking of which, who made the phone call to Torg (that he mistook as Gwynn) at Orsintos? The OASIS satellite? They were underground, reception was terrible.

That would make OASIS mean something like Orbital Anti-Something Incineration Satellite or something? 'Know thyself' indeed Dr. Steve...

Orbital Anti-Schlock Incineration Satellite.

Turns out Steve was also from the future.

So Oasis (the person) wasn't generating the fire, she was simply directing O.A.S.I.S. on where to shoot? She's not the weapon, just the trigger.

Everyone on that satellite, and Torg is still probably the only one who actually sees her as a person.

Do you think the pain/discomfort she experiences when she starts a fire is something in her calling/synching with the satellite?

Just going to put a guess here that the "IS" from OASIS stands for "in space".

And maybe the physical aspect of the Schlock triangle was about tracking down the spacial location of a geostationary satellite by determining the range of the incendiary shots? Like reverse triangulation. I'm pretty sure that's not how it would work in real life but...

Still not sure how the satellite triggered a fire in Chen's mouth, might have to reread that bit.

Or, alternatively, tracking the last few feet of the shots. Only one problem: the spatial location wouldn't be enough; in order to intercept it in orbit, you'd need its actual orbital parameters, which means you'd need to take measurements from a few different points in time.

New question: who's the girl who's calling Oasis "Acey"? Will she be important? A wild guess would be Kareen Zalia.

I wonder if anyone can identify her birthday from those weather patterns.

^^^ given that Pete simply used the famous "Blue Marble" image of the Earth, I doubt it. Not unless we really want to go with Oasis being born on December 7, 1972

And lo, it was so.

These are some serious Ghost In The Shell shenanigans right here. New loose end!
Why the hell did Dr. Steve need his orbital death ray to have a physical avatar??

Did he just take those "If you like it so much why don't you marry it?" insults too literally?

It's funny, I thought Schlock knew about Sin'thea, but he thinks the missing "ingredient" is quantum entanglement?

Now I wonder what would happen if Cappy Bo got on that satellite...

Well, now we know why Oasis and Kusari's blood is innocent. If their minds aren't where their bodies are, their bodies aren't morally culpable.

I suspect some kind of magical link through Sin'thea-Dunuloa-artificial life but that's probably gonna take another 5 years to reveal. :bunbun:
