Been reading sluggy for ages - since back when it was one of the only web comics.
Even used to have a forum account and be a defender, but I've long since forgotten the username and the associated email address has been thoroughly abandoned (it would either be my old university e-mail or an old ISP-provided e-mail, the days before gmail, crikey!). It's been so long since I've used that account I don't care about trying to recover it.

Pretty much just here to speculate.

Welcome to the forum blakemw!

That is definitely a problem nowadays. Emails were much more fractured back then. Heck back when I was first on the net, to have an email I had to *gasp* pay to have one and the max storage was maybe 10mb. Not sure if the company is even still around... Well, the domain redirects to another site now.

Then I had a .com domain for many years (5?) with a very cheap host. Was going to do more with it but never did so it just became my email host before I finally got Gmail. Can still find it on The Wayback Machine.

Anyway [member's name here], now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem --usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted-- written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want to possibly get a [name of harmlessly fatal item here] or some other type of gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.
