I've been reading Sluggy since the Emergency Pants and the Clothes-eating moths (Book 8, Chapter 29 [Shadow Boxing]). A long time to be lurking around, it's true.

Welcome to the forum lawoot!

Rejoice! You have de-lurked after all this time and become one of us! You may now go back to lurking...

Anyway [member's name here], I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem --usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted-- written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want to possibly get a [name of harmlessly fatal item here] or some other type of gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.

Haiku are not hard
Three lines of five seven five
Just count the sylla-

Er, well...never mind. Here's a gift for you!

A Home Seed (plan Arken)

Just plant it in any soil and give it plenty of water. Once it has spouted to a building bud in about a week, just "feed" it 9 to 12 tonnes of water, carbon, nitrogen, calcium, and few other elements, and in about a year you should have a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 250 square meter home with attached two vehicle garage. If you want a smaller or larger home, regulate the "feeding" schedule. Once you get it where you want, just need to "starve" it.

Hope you enjoy! Just remember to send me pictures in a year, or less if you wanted something smaller.
