Hey, I'm Geoff

Long time reader, like, looooooong time all the way from the late 90's. Started reading in school around the time of the first Alien dimensional portal story. Some things change but a bookmark on sluggy has always been at the top of the list. It feels like things are coming to a crunch and I want to post juicy speculations about all the stuff that's happening but I'm scared of doing introductions.

Anyways, thanks Pete for writing for so many years, it has been great :) :bunbun: :bunbun: :bunbun: :bunbun:

Welcome to the forum Geoffrax!

Yeah a built-in bookmark is a little better that some of the other ways to keep track. Use the browser to bookmark, remember the date, remember the chapter/sub-chapter, or my way. Which reading the Archive for the first time was, "Where the hell was I?" and proceed to click around until something looked familiar.

Don't worry, you did fine with your Intro. Some people are really bad or lazy with them. Some are so lazy they will say "Hi". Just that one word, nothing else. Even though the person didn't reply with anything to prove they were not a spammer, I will usually approve them. I have found after all of these years of doing this, spammers are not that lazy. They try to sound like a "normal" person but still not be specific. "I love your forum! I hope to get into some fun discussions with everyone! ;)" That screams spammer.

Anyway, you may be here to post in the forum or you were confused and thought you needed to be a Full Member to participate in non-forum things. You don't actually. Whichever it was, means you can post in the forum whenever the urge hits you, if you want. Now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem--usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted--written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you...a little. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want a gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.
