Well if you haven't figured out yet, when Thursday's comic is up, the Auction will have ended. There's not much time left until then. Unless you are reading this after that deadline...then you're out of luck. Complaint of the day... Sure hope we will get editing control back to our forum profiles, (or for some reason I can't find it). It keeps displaying my Yahoo Mesanger ID under my avatar and I haven't used/checked that thing in years and I would like to remove it. I suspect other members have similar things they would like to change. They fixed it! Woohoo! ---- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Remember to vote EACH day.

You know, I'm suddenly a lot more interested in the unmasking. Wonder if the focus will shift strip by strip?

Tone aside, this is the man holding a magic talking sword complaining about what is and isn't possible. "It's magic I ain't gotta explain poop" jumps to mind. Clearly Oasis has some amount of magic going for her, and mad science in this universe can be just as inexplicable.

What exactly is under "nosce te ipsum" there? It could be a mirror or... a window? Showing the inside of O.A.S.I.S.? Know thyself indeed.

I like how the symbol on the door shows her hair tentacles. Hentacles?

I think it has to be something more than just that. After all, if a tracer and transponder transfers between Oasis's bodies, then the clones aren't pre-made. Any ways, this is all fascinating.

I'm glad Torg brought that up; I was worried that the explanation was going to be that Oasis was remotely controlled by a computer, but there are so many problems with that, even taking into account that unrealistic-for-the-time A.I. is pretty common in Sluggy (see: Brain Digbot, Mecha Easter Bunny).
You'd at least have to resolve those problems.
And I note the fact that we haven't actually seen any spare Oasis bodies yet...

Also see: at the time Torg thought Oasis was a robot. So at the time he was willing to believe in a mecha/computer implementation.
