I'm probably being an annoyance now, but I said the nav menu was 11 pixels off, not 10. It's still one pixel off. It's not as noticeable, but it is still there.

Also you really need to think about getting rid of that 3D book thing in the Archives for picking which book you want. It's a pain to use on a desktop/laptop, but almost impossible to use on a phone. It's flashy just to be flashy, while making navigation worse.

Easy navigation of a site is paramount over gimmick. It should be like the layout for chapters in the books. Those are easy to navigate but also look good.

And some people are only getting a blank area instead of the books, so they can't even get to any of the books.

What does "View in Archives" really mean when you attached it to today's comic? You may want to reconsider this. I can't imagine ANY need to ever click on this. Remember -- imagine this from the user's prospective, not your own.

Until they add nav buttons (first/prev/next/last) it's the only way to get to the recent comics you may have missed in between your last check and the current one.

Also, how's the progress coming on adding those nav buttons and calendar back? :)

It's not mentioned in the last progress post, so it must be a low priority. Which is a shame, they're losing all new readers in meanwhile (I too would have never read a newly discovered web-comic which doesn't even have nav buttons).

So I saw the note over the weekend about getting the Day 1 rewards if I pledged before the next comic posted, I pledged, but I didn't get any of the Day 1 rewards.

If you add the image height and width to the <img> tags on the archive pages, the page won't change sizes seemingly randomly as all the images load, and will create a much smoother experience for users going to a single comic. Right now trying to visit one comic and waiting for all of them to load sucks.

This is the main feedback I've been giving. This has been produced to big new and shiny, with very little regard for how people interact with the website.

The books look cool, but are terrible for navigation on a website. They could be pretty awesome if you used them for some virtual reality or an augmented reality project though! I don't want to discourage anyone because they look cool, but they're definitely out of place here.

Looking cool vs. giving your viewers quick easy navigation are two very different things.

Under "Edit account setting" in User Control Panel, you can not change your email or password. It says "The current password you entered is incorrect.", but the password was correct (and I checked to be sure).

Also I was wondering about the Lite-Brite Pete Pawnz for people who "Pledged to Pledge". That will eventually show up right?

And also, I don't know if anyone from the Captain_20plus group is looking, but you should check out The New Website. It also has information from the members about the site you should probably be aware of.

That great strip where Gofotron fights 100 fighters (Snoorf! MORE fighters!) is basically gone; all I see is a single panel, probably the first panel.

Knowing what they hell they're doing has never been a notable characteristic of anyone who has worked on Sluggy's site.

As Zillatain said elsewhere:

Hey! The Archives are better now if nobody noticed. They implemented lazy loading of the strips. Much faster now since the strips only load when you are looking at them. No downloading of the entire chapter to see just one strip!

That's a step in the right direction! Thanks!

Interesting! We had looked specifically at that strip to confirm the new archive changes were okay, since that one's such an oddball. What browser/platform/anything-else-you-can-tell-us are you using? This is what it looks like on my screen (at the bottom):

Different comic resolutions (900, 1000, 1150) resulted in the final panel being in different places in the row, in testing. But we never got a result where it was just one panel. Please help us track down that bug! :kzk:

I'm wondering this as well.

I was using current version of Chrome on a MacBook Pro running Sierra 10.12.6. Checking the strip to repro has it fixed, so possibly it was a loading issue and the new "lazy loading" fixed the problem?

Hi folks, After saying that NiftySearch works 'perfectly' now (from a user POV), I found that it doesn't quite. The 'pointing' is a bit off for one of the comics...

Today I hit "view" for comic 070318 and it landed me on 070317 instead. Later, when I tried to recreate the issue (so that I could tell you the date), I hit "view" again, and this time landed on 070316.
(http://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?cha ... 2007-03-18)

I tried a few other dates, and they were landing correctly (or close enough) - just not that one - or the ones in its vicinity.

In case it matters, I use Firefox (55.0.3 (64-bit)).
