If we save them all, we can afford an 80% loss among captive hives and still have one left. Safer that way.

Well, three of the hives are already damaged. Which means a penalty to the odds of those hives being successfully domesticated.

Just to clarify, you want Roger to inform the Captain that dragons exist here and that a contingency plan be prepared?

Arkady said to tell him they exist so he could come up with something, yes.
So far as the hives, for all we know the damaged hives could be the ones easiest to 'domesticate'. We shall see.

The captain is vaguely aware of the possibility of dragons, yes.
Incidentally, trying to domesticate the Blood Bees is a Survival roll. Is Felix going to try to do so personally, or is he going to delegate that task?

Having Nate try would be a good idea.

Arkady has a couple of agriculture related perks he can bring to bear.

They could both do it and see who gets the highest roll while Felix oversees putting together an outpost at the orchard using his Engineering and Leadership skills.

There's five hives, they could split the task and see how many are left (hopefully at least one).

I'm pretty sure FATE has provisions for assisted rolls. We could try putting our heads together?

Arkady could easily tag an aspect or two to boost Nate's roll, yes. Though I'm wondering what constitutes 'domesticating' blood bees besides getting a colony into the new artificial hive without losing the queen and all the brood. Paper training them and teaching them to fetch our slippers while keeping down the pests?

I think it just means successfully installing the colony without destroying it, though I could be wrong.

Succeeding in the roll means that the bees get installed safely and makes the artificial hive their home, yes. Failing in the roll means that something happens to the hive - perhaps it does not survive, perhaps it survives with some permanent negative effect, perhaps it somehow manages to escape and flee the area to build itself a new Hive somewhere else.
They will not be fetching your slippers.
I've rolled for the undamaged hives - anyone want to add any Aspects at this point?
