I say it's because he heard the word "Babelfish".
Not because of the stem-cell meat nor the squid stick. Those are distractions by Pete.

My mind at first said it was because of the steak thing because, c'mon it's Torg. However now I think it was because of the mutagenic Squid-on-a-stick which brings up memories from That Which Redeems. I never really thought of the babelfish thing though. Sidenote: Torg seems to have been focusing on lab C-19, where the English was coming from, lending weight to the argument that it was the steak thing.

If Torg holds a funeral for just a few porterhouses, imagine what he'd do to help him emotionally cope with their extinction. I doubt even Sasha would want to know.

I think he's freaking out for the steak because that's the gag. However, I do think he heard the conversation about the babelfish and has that tucked neatly away in his strategic brain.
Again, his goofy persona is hiding his international-spy-like self.

Well, it looks like I may have to retract Bablefish. Was a bit slow (at remembering) when I posted this topic for some reason. Babelfish is a free translation program, that Pete used for the Chinese dialogue. I guess I'll go with the SOAS (squid-on-a-stick). The meat-flan sounds a bit much to decontaminate all of the labs -and kill everyone. EDIT: I see that someone did mention Bablefish in reactions...

Also mentioned in Reactions, but not in a speccy way, was this comic: http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20001022And oh my god Squid on a Stick has to be the reason. Also I think we know what the DoP "demons" really are now :O (I mean, obviously the reason is the Meat Flan, but Sasha will give Torg the out he needs to rationalize that it's the Squid of Sceptering) Could this be it? Could this be the means by which the DoP is finally brought into the primary story arc? As well as the thing that elevates the NoFun corp to Big Bad status?? Only time will tell, folks!

I guess I'm just ruthless, but I thought that "seal and decontaminate" would also take out the people (brains) working on the nasty stuff. No EMP bomb is going to erase what they know, so he didn't freak out as much as I would have to make sure none of this Nofun stuff would come to pass.

Most of the NoFun staff is topside dealing with the amusement park. If they sealed and decontaminated all the labs at once right this instant, they wouldn't kill all that many people.

Yeah and with them decontaminating the labs all at once they could be in and out quickly, reducing the chances of them being caught/killed/mutated. Oh, and DHW, it's ok to be ruthless, some of those people could be working on the next black plague or a disease that inflicts a fate worse than death.
