Everyone knows the only condiment which can be combined successfully with all foods is walnut. Walnut on desert, walnut on a sallad, walnut is the greatest ingredient of all.

Second that. If anything is getting mixed into brownies its some flavor of chips. Chocolate, peanut butter, or white chocolate being my favories.

AHA! Your hypothesis is flawed... FLAWED I SAY!

(and as we all know, it is really Ranch Dressing that makes everything better.)

really? now how would ranch dressing taste in chocolate? or in an ice cream sundae?

I'm inclined to say that people who like walnuts will put them on anything. But then I remembered that thats true about ketchup too.

To be honest I think Riff might have a point with the deep frying but then - I've lived in Scotland.

Ranch dressing is disgusting. So are all other cream-based dressings. Especially that heretical "creamy Caesar" that I can't get away from.

I think the only axiom can be that there is no axiom.

But garlic butter and deep fried are definitely contenders for most popular.

I'd put crumbled, dried apricot bits on anything.

Green chile is, obviously, the axiom. It's the only thing on the list equally as good on a steak as on ice cream.

I vote for green chile as well- I put it on (or in) everything. Including my coffee. Whenever I am somewhere I can't get good chile, I have people ship it to me. I took cans of green chile with me when I went backpacking in Europe. And it's healthy! Best food EVAAAR!

I vote for water. It hurts absolutely nothing.

I disagree. It hurts whisky phenomenally.
