Hmm. I think I could dredge up something that was nostalgic for the 1880s and was written before 1980. Would that get bonus points?

Tough one, very tough, AT 1983 - Pelle Carlberg Hey Soul Sister - Train 1985 - Bowling for Soup No bonus points for me.... If I had done the road mix it would have looked a lot like yours, except with the original "Life is a Highway" and with the Beatles' "Drive My Car". But "Roam" was an excellent call. Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" would have been a good alternate. @Solara --I've enjoyed the mixes you made for me. Some of those songs have been new to me. I especially liked the Kellerissa and the Bush remix. For the remix mix I couldn't resist coming up with my own set of answers: "Brimful of Asha (Fatboy Slim Mix)", "A Little Less Conversation (Elvis vs LVX)" and R. Kelly's "Remix to Ignition", all of which were remixes more popular than the originals (with the possible exception of the Elvis). For the new prompt, I would like a tine-y mix of songs about (or by) silverware, flatware, cutlery and the like.

I didn't know Fatboy Slim had covered/remixed "Brimful of Asha." I love that song! Thanks for the tip on a new version. :)

Unusual. Well, ghostly love comes to mind:
Hotel California - The Eagles The Old Ways - Loreena McKennitt Little Ghost - White Stripes
Give me some songs about science. The madder, the better!

She Blinded me with Science - Thomas Dolby Weird Science - Oingo Boingo Yakko's Universe - The Animaniacs I would like a mix tape of songs that were covered on TV shows by a character or characters from the show. The cover has to have garnered some regular airplay at some time. Did you know that the Monkee's I'm a Believer was a cover of a Neil Diamond song? (sorry can't use that song now.)

Can the songs be original to the show/character or do they have to be covers?

OK, this doesn't count then --Tiny Mix of Original Songs From TV Shows
"How Do You Talk To An Angel" - The Heights. The song was more popular than the show, which only lasted a month. "Hey Hey We're The Monkees" - by guess who "I Think I Love You" - The Partridge Family
Jorodyn's original prompt remains open....

Well, first off the easy one: Don't Stop Believing: The Cast of Glee (ONLY Glee one, I promise) O Holy Night: Cartman. What? The rock station here in town has been known to mix it into holiday rotation. It TOTALLY counts. American Pie: The Brady Bunch. (I REALLY wish I was kidding here... listen at your own risk) I would like a tiny mix tape of holiday song parodies. 'Tis the season and all :)

This one is too easy for me. (I listen to Christmas related music from November 1st through Christmas.) I have to pass on this one, but I have two favorites if nobody lists them when they make a mix tape.

I think it's ok to pick the low-hanging fruit --it keeps the game moving. A category too easy for you might be too hard for other people. For instance, I know lots of novelty Christmas songs, but most of the parody Christmas songs I know aren't recorded.

Chimpunks Roasting on an Open Fire - Bob Rivers (sung to the Christmas Song) The 12 Pains of Christmas - Bob Rivers I am Santa Claus - also Bob Rivers (I did not know this one was by Bob Rivers before looking it up to post here.)
(It also appears that to other parody songs relating to Christmas that I know are done by Bob Rivers... apparently he is the Weird Al of Christmas song Parodies)
I need a tape of songs about cartoon characters.

(if you'd like more artist variety in your holiday song parody collection, you can pick some from A Very Scary Solstice)
