You may have read about the latest police shooting, a
completely unarmed blonde Australian woman was shot dead in the alley behind her house after she herself called the police to report a suspected assault. A cop seated in a car shot her while she was speaking to his partner through the window. He claims that he was startled by a noise.
In a separate case, a
short, skinny teenage girl was punched in the face her leg was chewed on by a K9 after cops mistook her for a male, 5 foot 10, bald, bearded machete-wielding suspect. The police chief initially deemed this an appropriate use of force, and it is the girl who will face charges for resisting arrest.
Is that where we're at now? A cop was scared so you are now dead or mangled, and this is all perfectly legal?
During the 2014 protests here, 7 cops dragged a handcuffed suspect off to a corner to kick him about. They were caught on live television. Those guys got sentenced to prison. It took a long while and they only got 2 years, but that seems to be more than any American cop who clearly shot somebody for no reason ever seems to get.
