That's always annoyed me. Apparently CNN thinks we Americans aren't good enough to get the news everyone else gets.
I think it's more that CNN thinks that the rest of the world wants fewer American stories so high in the list. It's not just them - the BBC website you see by default is the international version, that deprioritises British news compared with the domestic version. It seems a pretty sensible way of doing things to me.
