I posted this shortly before the Forum Rapture: Gamehippo has lots of freeware games. No shareware, just freeware. A lot of it sucks, but it's still worth a look.
The Best Page in the Universe is full of pissed off rants by a guy who doesn't take crap from anybody. Warning: Strong language, strong opinions.

*reads "list of fantasy game cliches"*
Lessee... wow, Chrono Trigger fits so many of these... I especially like the bit with the pendant. How many games have I seen with that yet? Lessee... Chrono Trigger... Star Ocean 2... uh... gosh darnit, I haven't played enough games.

Ah, gotta love these. Thanks for all the links in one homogenous blob, this way I don't have to sift through seven pages or so as I did with the previous thread.
I learnt how to fold a shirt!
And I'm currently addicted to the game where you work out the cuddly toys' problems. I've ALMOST finished the crocodile!
Oh yeah, and I read the whole way through that list of RPG cliches... soo painful... but I did it! And then my male conscience kicks in.
Tsk Tsk!

I think saying 'Warning: Strong langauge, strong opinions' about Maddox is like saying that I like Marauders. True enough, but a gross misuderstatement.
If you're offended by pretty much anything, stay away. And, for the love of Pete, DON'T send him hate mail.
Warnings aside, though, Maddox's site is pretty cool. I enjoy it, at least.
Also, here is Ninja Pirate, IMO the best of several Maddox rip-offs/imitations/tributes/etc. Not near as strong on the language and opinions and content and stuff, but still pretty strong.
