I tried so hard to be straight. Then I thought maybe I could at least be bi." But it just made her miserable ... and of course now that she's come out I wish her so much happiness and healing!

Not that I'm excusing his abuse (in fact I'll still strongly condemn it) but that marriage must've sucked for all involved. I'm lucky that when I was denying myself it was that I was bi. It wass easy to pretend to only like women when I at least do like women. I hope she finds it easier to find some happiness now.

Apparently she was the instigator of all physical relations between them and he was the one constantly rejecting her and declaring their marriage a celibate one several years ago. And still had the gall to claim he "saved" her from being a lesbian by marrying her. UGH! Sorry, that guy isn't even worth the effort to type about him, so I will let that lie at last. I do very much hope she finds happiness (of course, because she is a dear friend) and that it is with someone monogamous and female-identified and awesome.

inspiration wrote: Heh, this exact same issue has now cropped up in my friends circle with a bisexual polyamorous married cis woman secretly pining after a gay monogamous in-the-process-of-divorce-from-an-abusive-husband cis woman. That kind of makes the last situation look terrifically simple. Update for the curious: bi poly woman professed her love, gay monogamous woman said "I love you too, but I can't do the poly thing," and apparently they've gone back to being friends with minimal weirdness. So, happy ending of sorts!

Yay! Not the very best outcome (I'm a romantic and love it when professions of love are requited and followed through with smooches), but still satisfying!
