We're going back for another lesson next weekend. After that, we'll see. I want to find a closer beach because that one was out in the middle of nowhere. We had to take a bus, and then a taxi, and then hike over hills to get there. I think it'll be a cool thing to do a few times every summer. I'm not gonna make too regular a habit of it because ow. I've got rug burns on all four limbs, sore muscles and a bruised rib.

Don'tcha know that all the best places are out in the middle of nowhere? ;) I wish I could go surfing with just a bus ride, followed by a taxi, then a hike, but alas. The rugburn is easily countered with a wetsuit, BTW, and sore muscles will go away the more you practice.

The instructor said it was too hot for a wet suit and that they only use them in winter, but yeah, that would help. I got the worst patch on my thigh, so next week I'll wear some shorts in the water.
I think most of my soreness is from the hike. One of those hills was really steep. Waking up with bruised ribs this morning was also a surprise, although it makes sense since I was essentially belly-flopping repeatedly onto a hard surface. Ngau popped pain killers on the way out to visit his mom, just now.
I should've tried this 10 years ago when I was 22. Probably wouldn't have hurt so much then.

Well, at least your trying it now, and not at 65 like most people. We'll make adventurers out of you and ngau yet.

As long as there are easily accessible bathrooms.

All you need is a shovel, a roll of toilet paper, and a copy of your favorite book and least favorite book.

You try changing a tampon without running water or flush toilets.
And if it's all the same to the mods, I don't think that any thread that reaches 10 pages is deserving of a sticky. I don't think this one makes the cut.

I've been working every weekend, but this coming weekend I'll be driving out to California with the fiance and munchkin for a week long visit with fiance's family. 21 hour drive with a 3-year-old...

Looks like I'll actually be able to make the zombie apocalypse this weekend. This'll be my first in about six months. And a quick follow up. One of the games we play is Hunger Games as everyone starts without a weapon and needs to avoid Zombies to get to the Cornucopia:
