Janny has been awesome enough to introduce me to Mark Aaron James, a very talented musician who performs live every Tuesday night at 8:30 at Mr. Dennehy's in the Village.

Every week, Mark does a mix of his original music (awesome) and covers of a band chosen by the audience the previous week (so fun!). This week, he covered the Barenaked Ladies.

It was incredible. The only problem was, the audience was tiny.

Next week he will be covering They Might Be Giants.

And you, New York-area Sluggites, are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Um, any questions?

I don't *beleive* there's a minimum age, but I can ask around. And all the location info is on the Mr. Dennehy website I linked to. It's in the basement, for what that's worth.

Now, I like good music, don't get me wrong, but I don't think I could spend a whole evening with a bunch of Yankees fans.

Normally, I couldn't either. (Mets fan) But if the Yankees don't make the playoffs. I think i could handle it.

No baseball talk went on in my recollection. Not that it's verboten, of course. At least, that I know of.

It doesn't have to. The Yankeeness shines through. It's like they have these flashing lights on their foreheads that spell out "I'm an arrogant Yankees fan. Oh, and I eat puppy dogs."

And then they eat puppies. You can't trust Yankees fans.

I do not eat puppies!

Kittens are so much more tender.

Sorry, I just felt the need to defend my brethren.

Any Yankees fans are upstairs watching on TV, not down in the basement.

The most that you get is muffled cheers when they hit a home run, and a comment that "there's a game tonight". If you're downstairs on Tuesday, you're there for the music. There's even a seperate entrance if you don't want to walk through the bar (and the Yankee fans) to get downstairs.

As far as ages go... Umm... I'm not honestly sure. I don't think it's a requirement that you be over 21 (as long as you're not drinking) but I don't know.

-Janny

This guy sounds like a great performer. Wish I could go and join my fellow yankee fans...er....sluggites! However, it is a scenic 13 hour drive or so for me.
