Today my home computer has been acting a little wonky. Whenever I click on a link that opens a new window, it gets redirected to some site that is advertising yahoo e-mail services. And when it does this a little message appears on the bottom of the window that says "pop-up blocked".

Here is where it gets wierder. I went to my pop-up blocker and turned it off, and the exact same thing happened. Do any of you sluggites out there have any idea what is going on and how I can fix it?

Any help would be appreciated.

I thought I heard of a virus or worm the other day that did this. It's mostly harmless but caused your computer to continually open up browser windows to some site. Make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and do a full scan...

The pop-up blocked message that pops up - is this the same as the usual pop-up blocked message, or a close fake?

What browser are you using? Does it do the same in other browsers? (If you have no other browsers, take a glance at opera or firefox) Which operating system are you running?

Have you tried a spyware removal tool?
