I see they (or more specificly Paramount Pictures) have come out witha live action version of Aeon Flux. Call me old school, but it isn't really Aeon Flux unless she dies a horrible, random death at the end.

She died in all six of the original Liquid Television shorts. Then MTV made it into a series, and I guess they decided they couldn't have the main characetr die in each episode. The shorts were great, surreal fun; but the concept (such as it was) didn't translate well into a half-hour show.

At first it was her dying horribly. Then it was her being sexy and fighting the man.

I can't really see Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux. It just hurts to try.

to be honest i can't see anyone as aeon flux...you'd have to manufacture a human who couldn't stand to really fit the part...

I wasn't a big fan of the series, but I just watched the trailer, and I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping they were going to make a heavily stylised movie, like "City of Lost Children" but for adults. Looks like they only wanted to make another Equilibrium.

I just remember what happens to people who try to escape the city - the doorways are open, but wires immediately lop off and sew up any appendages that try to get through. I wonder if they're going to put that in the movie, or at least some reference to it.

Some parts of the trailer looked like it could've been in the future Battle Angel Alita movie, but I hope and pray to any and all deities that James Cameron doesn't screw it up and make it look like this.

Looks like they messed up the story a bit from the trailer.....it was always more or less aeon vs trevor....now there seems the resistance has a larger part as does other gov't officials.

Not to mention the actors they got look nothing like the cartoon characters.

I'll still be there opening weekend though.

Someone already mentioned that it would be impossible to get an actor that looks like Aeon Flux. The same is largely true of the rest of the cast.

Also, the expanded gov't/rev'l'tion roles probably just help provide a larger background to the movie, which will (hopefully) still be largely Aeon v. Trevor.

I don't know anything about Aeon Flux; but I was still dissapointed by the trailer. In fact, watching it I thought; eww, this looks horrible, and Charlize Theron looks out of place, and that's a terrible joke ... oh, this must be that movie whose trailer and general adaptaion people on the sluggy board were complaining about.
