Just got back from a sneak preview of Serenity...... and I'm most definetly going to see it Friday! It... was... *speechless.*

I'm watching today's episode of Firefly. Ready to give it a chance, but I have three comments...

1) The Inara lesbian thing is obviously there just to pander to the 13-49 males. Toss them a hook, watch them bite it. I hate the feeling of being pandered to like that.

2) Does Wash always have the emotional maturity of a six year old?

3) Indiana Jones called. He wants his villain back.

That scene was obviously there purely for the purpose of being in the promos and drawing in viewers. The numbers were suffering by the time that ep aired.

Of course, Fox never aired a promo for this episode......

He's goofy-fun Wash. I don't think his character can really be described in terms of maturity level.

Nisca, who was invented for "The Train Job" (the replacement pilot written over a single weekend), is not the most 3D villian ever, it's true. Still, I liked seeing him a second time.

But as the commentary mentions, try imagining him as a Kind Old Grandfather character. Pinoccio's dad. Kinda puts the whole thing in a different perspective.

I liked Niska. Intelligently evil, and talks in a cool accent. :kiki:

Plus, him juxtaposed against Book was damn shiny.

Yeah, that was to get in a couple of cheap jokes, plain and simple.

Yes, Wash is the solid blackmark on the series. I hated him too, my least favorite character. His only redeeming feature is Zoe. Wash is an annoying manchild.

Meh, more like the Mob called, they want their stereotype back.
