Ever watch the short-lived-yet-wonderful series Firefly? It's the movie that explains a lot of it.

Short version:
The proof that Fox is run by a bunch of morons.
Long version:
The $40 million big-screen movie made by Universal, based on the cancelled-after-14-episodes excellent Fox series Firefly.
The movie takes place six months after the series, and is made to both follow-on from the series, and be comprehensible to new viewers.
The Firefly DVD set is only $35, so I highly recommend picking it up.

OK, the official site ( http://www.serenitymovie.com) isn't very informative, so I seek the collective wisdom of Sluggydom.
Is Inara in the movie?
The Gallery pictures show the other characters from the series, but no shot of Inara.
And I can't comment on the trailer, as I don't have Quicktime and my work pooter is set not to allow installations. Grumble grumble grumph.

All nine characters (10 including Serenity) are in the movie, although one or two of them don't have very big roles, apparently.
You can see some of Book and Inara is this (low quality) "for fans" trailer released a few months back at Comic-Con:
http://www.hitechgadgets.net/firefly/serenityteaser.zip
It's not as impressive as the new one, but it was all us fans had for a long while there.

For the record, Fox didn't even show the series in its intended order. The episode they closed out with was the pilot. Many of the other episodes were not played in their intended order.

Apparently Fox wanted to concentrate the most "western" of the episodes at the beginning of the series' run for some reason.
Never mind that it played hell with character development.....

Glad to here it. There's been some concern over whether or not the trailer would appeal to those not previously familiar with the series.
