Debating religion with already angry friend and becoming blocked because they can not come up with a counter argument. *evil grin*

The strange sensation of proudly realizing that someone, soon, will be calling me Daddy.
A quiet Sunday with my pregnant-glowy wife where we did very little productive, and loved every minute of it.
The pleasure of a job well done at work, figuring out something very few would be able to figure out.
Oh, and my cat. He's very, very entertaining sometimes. When he's not meowing to be fed, or trying to wake up the humans on Sunday morning to play for five minutes, after which he takes a nap.

I don't think FB ever had faith in humanity.

I saw a friend the other day who was a brand new daddy and while happy he had this glazed expression, like, what have I gotten myself into. To be fair, it's my contention that people entering into a new phase in their lives (marriage, children, college, etc...) that believe that they actually know what's coming is in for a rude surprise when everything doesn't work out exactly as planned. It's like David Eddings said in a couple of his series, "Always expect the worst, that way all your surprises are pleasant."

For the first two or three years of my life, I cried throughout the night almost daily. My parents would actually take turns staying up the entire night trying to console me during that entire period so that at least one of them would have a decent nights sleep.
My father is waiting with an almost malevolent anticipation for the day that I have my own child.

I plan on simply never having children, and doting on my nieces and nephews. Best of both worlds! (Note: I'm the oldest of six, and I sure as hell know what it takes to raise a kid, as I was a participant in the process. *shudder*)

Yeah, I'm already mourning the loss of sleep that is inevitable even though my wife is going to be a stay-at-home mama for a bit. I likes my sleeps...

I think I'd only have one strict rule with my child: That their name (Wolfgang Mustang Hawkeye) be passed down to the first born child. Otherwise, NO INHERITANCE FOR YOU!
Yes, THREE first names.
