Sluggy has been on my daily reading list since late 2002. The first strip I read was 2002-10-08 (thanks transcript search) and somehow it must have caught my interest enough to go back to the beginning and binge everything. Those were the days when that seemed to be a sane option.

I must have been _here_ before too, because my full name was taken when I just registered -- but no email address I still have responds to the "forgot password" button, so a new one it must be.

Yeah... This was the method that came about to stop the spam from showing up in the forum. Until the new site was made, we were getting literally 100s of spam post per day. And yes, I am using that word correctly. It really should be changed back to not needing an intro, since the spam protections are much, much, better now. We rarely ever get any now.

Anyway [member's name here], now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem --usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted-- written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want to possibly get a [name of harmlessly fatal item here] or some other type of gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.
