Ahoy there, my name's Oliver.

I'm hoping to try to find a source for the sluggy collection of books - I started reading the webcomic in university, about 1999, but unfortunately never purchased any of the books. Seeing as all my favourite characters are still alive and kicking (actually, are ALL the characters still alive and kicking?!?), I'd like to try and catch up!

Welcome to the forum Twisted64!

Well, until Pete opens the store again, getting Megatomes 1 & 2 (books 1-3 & 4-6) are difficult. If you don't care about the extras and full color Sundays in the Megatomes, somebody on eBay has a 1-6 set for sale and it is cheaper than the first Megatome alone. IndyPlanet has print-on-demand for books 7-19 (except for 9...and there is one on eBay...also Megatome 2 I see).

What do you mean by ALL characters? Since I do not know how far you are, nor how low on the character scale you mean, I will say, "Maybe."

Anyway [member's name here], now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem --usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted-- written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want to possibly get a [name of harmlessly fatal item here] or some other type of gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.

I bet at least one person you liked is now dead. Personally, I'm glad that they're dead. :bunbun:

Thanks guys! I wasn't sure whether the store would open again or not, but I'll wait, so Pete can enjoy the fruits of his labour :)

I guess I used to worry about the main characters dying ever since Kitten, since it got pretty dark, but somehow they always seem to pull through pretty well, which I personally like.

A poem?
If I write off the top of my head,
You shouldn't blame me when words are bad.
I love to read! A book'll be read,
Time permitting; in other cases,
It can take years to come on back,
To sit on down, to turn the page,
And consume til the back
Cover.
