Hi! I've been reading Sluggy for over 10 years. I think I found it in college sometime and archive binging was a great comfort on late homework nights.
I think Sluggy is one of the best humor works I've read in how it manages the tension between being constantly humorous, but also telling meaningful stories. I haven't quite figured out why, but I think it might be that the style of the humor seems to "fit" the theme; when the story gets dark, the humor gets darker, but stays consistent with the characters, so it still "feels" true.
I stopped reading for a bit somewhere in the middle of 4U City... earlier this year I was feeling bored, and lonely, so I picked it back up starting a few story arcs earlier than that.
Boy, I MISSED OUT on the 4U city ending... the severely impressive fall of HeretiCorp...... and, of course, the Oasis reveal. All the years of teasing and piece-by-piece revelations really paid off.
Nice to meet y'all.
