Set up the account some months ago, then RL got in the way and I'm just now getting back to finishing the process.

Came to the Sluggy-verse a couple of years ago due to a reference in John Ringo's novel Gust Front and recommendations from Mad Mike Williamson and some of his on-line followers. Started at the beginning and loved being able to read a few dozen strips a day. Then I got caught up, and for the last several months, the suspense has been killing me.

In RL, I'm part Torg and part Riff, with a hefty dose of Bun-Bun and a dash of Kiki to keep people from being able to figure me out.

Welcome to the forum elric999!

I remember when I first read the Archives. Read the strip, click Next, read the strip, click Next, over and over to find out what happened next. Until one day there was no Next option. Then it was , "Aw crap," now it's only one per day now instead of a hundred per day. To think that was more than ten years ago...

:torg: :riff: :bunbun: :kiki: you say?

Nah, that's pretty easy to figure out. You're Dr. Schlockenstein's monster.

Anyway [member's name here], now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem --usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted-- written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want to possibly get a [name of harmlessly fatal item here] or some other type of gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.
