Things, they are a'change'n, so I'm poking my head back in the forums.

I'm Mandy, I haven't posted since... wow. Towards the end of That Which Redeems? It's been awhile.

Fun fact: I started reading on 6-11-2000, during a great Sunday Alyee reveal. That's what my screen name is all about.

Welcome to the forum SixEleven2K!

Yeah things are changing. In my opinion it has not been for the better.

Heh, that's one way to come up with a memorable name. Never forget when you started.

So you're not exactly new then. But since it has been a long time I think I'll bug you about the tradition after all.

Anyway, you may be here to post in the forum or you were confused and thought you needed to be a Full Member to participate in non-forum things. You don't actually. Whichever it was, means you can post in the forum whenever the urge hits you, if you want. Now I will tell you about the strange tradition aimed at newcomers.

At one time there were Pesterers who pestered you for poetry, but that tends to be very rare nowadays. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do go and post an original poem--usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted--written by you, you will most likely receive a gift in return. The "gift" will most likely be useless or maim you...a little. Whichever it may be, it should be interesting and surprising. Lastly, this strange tradition applies to the pestering not the poetry. You are not required to do anything more to be a member here...unless you want a gift.

Now go forth and do (almost) whatever you want, just don't speculate in Reactions.

Where does one place this poem, if one enjoys the gift it may bring?

I... am also hesitant about SOME of the changes. One of the reasons I came back to the forum was to see if other Sluggites were expressing their opinions on it. And to see how people were doing. :D

Thanks for liking my name. I could never get the image of Torg running with a Potato out my head, even after 17 years.

Hmmm... Can't tell if that was supposed to be a poem or not... And I've seen a lot of "poems".

Well, I'll give you little something anyway. Here's a brass nose-ring that rings when it knows you will be receiving a text or call on your phone 4 seconds before your phone rings.
