I could swear I had an account before, but seems like it died with the spammers...

Been reading SF for a long, long time, (at least since 2000, maybe before) super excited to see Pete doing his thing still. Glad to be here! :sam:

Welcome to the forum nwlierly!

Thought your thread was spam at first with that title of yours. Been dealing with spam for so long, I rarely look at the post since the title usually gives it away what it is. Yours was odd enough for me to look at it. Well you previous account may have been erased if you didn't have any posts and had no activity on it since registering. A few years ago the Admin decide to do some clean up. I think she removed about three thousand.

Anyway, a lot of new people signed up recently, so I will have to keep this short (and amazingly identical). There used to be Pesterers to pester you for poetry, but who knows if that will happen. Even though you may not be pestered, if you do post an original poem--usually haiku but any (clean) type is accepted--written by you, you may also receive a gift in return. The "gift" may be useless or fatal, but it's a surprise. Lastly, the pestering is the tradition here, not the poetry.

Now go forth and mingle!

Uh oh, I see a haiku. You're in for it now.

You get a gift of...

A bouquet of razor-roses from the planet Frfeth. Unlike pathetic earth roses, razor roses are carnivorous and have razor sharp petals to slice insects or noses to bits that get too close. Also they require spinal fluid instead of straight water to survive. Don't worry about extracting the fluid yourself. Just give a rose to someone you love and the rose will grow roots to the source while the person is asleep. It is so non invasive that the loved one will never even notice it sipping the spinal fluid or the roots in the brain stem controlling them like a meat puppet.
