I just spent four days reading Sluggy from start to finish *blink*. Maybe I should've paced myself. Now where are my glasses.

Um anyway, introductions... I'm am English and Philosophy major living in New Zealand and I look kind of like Gwynn :gwynn:.

Oh and my username has nothing to do with Orlando Bloom and everything to do with a Virginia Woolf novel (and the ability to look androgynous).

Welcome to the boards.

Here's your gift...wait....*looks around*

I sense a disturbing lack of poetry.

Here on Sluggy.net, it's been a convention to introduce yourself with a haiku.

The haiku can be about anything, but we need a haiku. Any other form of poetry would be...acceptable.

I withold your gift until such a time as poetry is rendered.

And 4 days is really fast for the archives (but I can do it in 1 if I really try!).

A haiku eh? I did one in Anglo-Saxon recently but it doesn't make a lot of sense even if you know the language so I'll post one in contemporary English when I come back :p.

Got one (is this right?):

Comic addiction
Spent four nights reading Sluggy
Eyes are bloody sore.

Would've been less than four nights if I had broadband :p.

That's fine: nice haiku! Very nice.

Welcome to the boards! Have fun. *gives an onyx stone*

*Bows*

Thanks for the welcome.

This version of the forum seems to be very recent. What happened to the old one? One of the other forums I lurk at recently had an apocolypse and we lost everything.

Great haiku! And yes, broadband is a gift direct from God, Allah, Budda, or whomever you worship.

*Ahem*

Your gift is a turtle shell from Mario Brothers 3. This amazing object can be used to break bricks, destroy your foes, and occasionally grow into a new foe for you to destroy. WARNING: uses may be limited.

You are one of the few people who will stare at a TV screen or computer monitor until their eyes bleed. Occular bleeding is the only excuse to stop playing video games/staying online! The only excuse!

For your gift I give you a set of nictating membranes. They are like a second transparent eyelid and they do several wonderful things. First of all they help keep water, dirt and dust out of your eyes. Second they reduce the glare from light sources and in extreme conditions become tinted to keep you from being blinded. There is one side effect however, and it is that you can no longer wear contacts becuase there simply is not enough room left in your eyes.

Indeed! Now if only I had a newer computer so I can play something more recent than Tomb Raider V, Commandos II and Grim Fandango.

As long as you can still play Grim Fandango, that's the main thing.

Welcome Lady O. Nice haiku. You can pick anything you want out of my bag of mostly broken stuff; but be careful of sharp edges.

[geek]Ooh yes, best game ever! I plan on keeping this old computer handy just for my retro games :p. I have some that are as old as I am but my favourites are the LucasArts SCUMM games (or GrimE in GF's case).[/geek]

Looks tentatively into Kristy's tattered bag
