Riff said, "now that is interesting." What was interesting? I think it might be that the electric anima field is gone, and thus, they may be able to get home via the DFA.

I'm gonna go with crossed wires. The interdimensional wire is plugged into the time hole.

WHO COULD HAVE DONE SUCH A THING?!?!? *wiggles fingers*

I like that idea! Wires or some other crossed element of the DFA, and the function shifts from changing alternate spatial dimensions (~universes) to shifting alternate time dimensions (time travel). It's entirely plausible.
