Suddenly, it makes a lot more sense that the animals didn't have animas. Would that mean that the giants that have appeared in this dimension previously where the manifestation of the more powerful psychic users? And what if they have no animas, but the natives of the new era do still have animas. Would that mean they would get treated like animals?

Neither did the NBC employee who put together the closing title card on the finale (the correct spelling was "Beckett", but the finale ended with a card that said "Dr. Sam Becket never returned home"). The episode had originally ended like this, but when the following season of the show was cancelled, the studio quickly threw together the ending we have today.

I never knew! I thought at first that Maya would definitely be going with them when they use the DFA, but if there are still sentient creatures here, like Daebo, I'm now leaning toward her staying.
