That would fit all the puzzle pieces until Pete throws new info at us again. In light of today's naming of the mom, I'm thinking "Synthea LaMort" is Dunuloa (who was big into synthetic "life," before going all emo): http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20130925http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20140630If that's the case, I'm inclined to think you're on to something re: cloning. My guess is that Dunuloa used her two children as the "templates" for her final experiments into synthetic life. Slaughteresa and Monicruel may be the original templates or they may just be copies of the originals. And I'm willing to bet that Oasis and Kusari are copies of the "Slaughteresa" and "Monicruel" type templates respectively (this would not be perfect cloning due to the differences in appearance, but more "near-cloning." And I'll bet Sasha is a copy of the Kusari/Monicruel variety as well, which would explain both why Kusari implies a connection to the group lies under her mask, as well as why Sasha and Monicruel are so physically similar that the former is able to pass for the second without arousing suspicion. Going through that second link, I found this: http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/140704Tombsy (one of Riff's dad's expedition partners) had a daughter named "Cynthia". Coincidence? Ok, probably. I'm not sure if the ages match up.

I know that Syn'thea's last name - "La'Mort" - has already been equated with 'death', but I think she is actually 'The Dead Woman' of the chapter's title. Also, I can't help but see Syn'thea's hair as very important, besides the obvious that it is the 'same' as that of Oasis (or vice-versa?) Syn'thea thinks Teresa's hair looks stupid, and remember that Teresa hated cutting her 2 braids short in the first place ('it's only hair, it's only hair...) But in Syn'thea's case at least, IS it only hair? Perhaps her 4 braids are the 'missing' 4 legs that makes her a spider, symbolically (synthetically?)

Of course! Nice catch, superhunnybear! That said, Pete did hint that there would be two "dead women" by the end of the chapter, and we're getting right there at the end here... So....? Unless he's referring to mom and daughter? superhunnybear wrote: Also, I can't help but see Syn'thea's hair as very important, besides the obvious that it is the 'same' as that of Oasis (or vice-versa?) Well, there's been speculation about Oasis' hair before, and Teresa certainly carried on the family tradition up until this undercover op. However, Monicruel - her sister - wore her hair short. So what is that all about??? Unless Monicruel (and Sasha??) is also undercover? "We have much to discuss". Yes, Pete, we certainly do!!

what if Ms. La'Mort is Oasis' mother as well? Nope. Don't think that we're missing that possibility...

Man, where is my head... I'd say the chances this is not the case are virtually zero. But what does it mean? Who IS Sin'thea/Cynthia and what is her end game with both Oasis and the Cult?
