Whose are they?
Oasis would be very plot-convenient, but one wonders why she's been hanging out with Sam. Have they even met? Maybe she got him just to surprise HC by having them expect the wrong sort of opposition? Or trying to get back in contact with Torg?
On the other hand...
Val was staked but I'm not sure she was dragged outside. If she became active, seeking out Sam would make a lot of sense. BUT, Pete has been closing down arcs, not busting open old ones.
Any other ideas?

Here's an off the wall spec. What if Sam started regenerating inside Gnaaw and was regurgitated? The experience could have been unpleasant enough to take Sam permanently off the menu, and it could have been Sam himself who stole the bag of pieces. And if anyone is stupid enough to flirt with the creature that nearly killed him, it's the Sampire. I could picture Gnaaw wearing those kind of stockings for some reason. Not sure what her game could be though.
I haven't ruled out Sasha playing some kind of angle of her own. Sam has a history with her that could lead him to trust her even after the betrayal. She exhibited ninja-like skills when breaking into Torg's hotel room. It just doesn't seem to fit with her conference call to Schlock, but it's not completely impossible.
You know whom I could really picture wearing stockings like those? Monicreul. But she's been fluxxed, and Theresa is busy infiltrating hC. Those legs are a bit of a stumper. *sigh*

She was. http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/981013Torg would pretty much have had to deliberately save her, which means he would have known she's alive which simply doesn't bear out with various plotlines that came after. For example, when Squeekybobo pretended to be her ghost.

I think this would be wayyyy too subtle for Oasis to be behind it. Plus, I'm pretty sure whoever it is tipped off the other vampires to Sam's location.

My guess? The lady with the nice gams from Oasis' orphanage. (I didn't say it was a SERIOUS guess...) Actually, I saw some one guess Nana Avarre. I think that's where the smart money is. An angsty goth dentist would probably go ga-ga over a real life vampire.

Yeah, Nana seems a likely candidate. I just don't yet get how she would know about both the Bjorkea hideout AND Sam's dismemberment. Other than the somewhat shakey linkup that she had a contact who previously sorted out a prosthetic nose for Aylee, so Aylee may have been in touch again.
The window of opportunity was quite short and other than those directly involved the suspects are pretty thin on the ground. Discovering the bag 'o Sam while infiltrating Bjorkea may have just been serendipity I guess.
Some connection with Riff's dad is still possible. He was there when Sam was bagged and the team split up.

Discovering Vrykos with pretty teeth was just serendipity when she was stalking Kent, but she got right to work on tooth extraction, so it's not that far-fetched. If there's any character in whose nature it would be to grab a pile of vampire corpse parts they just stumbled upon, it's Nana.

Gnaaw doesn't seem the type for dressing all sexy-like, but Lacey could pull it off and the cult of K'Z'K could be trying to use Sam to lure in the gang.

I think if had been G'naaw there would have been casualties. She's never demonstrated much restraint when it comes to refraining from snacking on humans.

erewhon wrote: Hmm.. I would have said that with "Oceans Unmoving 3" been hinted at, those really might have been a possibility. It would have been interesting to see how Kada fits into the overall theme; as her origin is known, this would have had to happen after Timeless Space and her only connection to the crew would have been Bun-Bun (and maybe that other person who knew about Minion Torg). But then "Full House" ended and there is a complete new chapter "Cirkail" which indicates even less connection to Kada. Regards, TCC
