Say, Kada called Calix "Blondie" once...that's it! Calix is The Man With No Name!
Eh, why the hell not.

They probably aren't the same person. I still have my testicals crossed for Jacobs being Grater with the stupidity beaten out of him. That said, Jacobs may as well be Calix. They have the same goals and they resort to the same tactics.
If we hadn't seen things play out from Calix's perspective, we might have ended up rooting Jacobs on.

with all the time travel, it os ttally possible for JJ to be alex, but it's far more likley to be kada than than kalix. JJ doesn't have the ability to secon d guess what kalix is doing, and therefor sp... him...
oh wow. JJ WANT"S calex to do waht he is doing. think about it. calex is rescuing everyon from the long grey casue of the time bubble recharge. JJ will then, once everyon has time, and is in one place, just march in and his plan will be complete. calex is doing all he work for him!!!!
ok porlly not but that idea just came to me

Ok, FireDrakeK... invest in a spellchecker and a capslock key. They do wonders.

Well, despite FireDrekeks spelling, he has an interesting point. Calix's actions bringing all those people together does play right into JJ's plans.
But why did JJ want to start the Clotho anyway? He was just being a jerk about enslaving people to achieve the Clotho - but why did he want to in the first place? Would it give him some sort of god-like standing?
Hmmm...if Calix is the one who starts the Clotho... does that make HIM the father of time?

I met a Calix last night, he's rather upset about someone else having his name.

Because it would be a great boon to everyone not to be in constant danger of running out of time, of course.
Just because Jacobs is a cruel despot doesn't mean all of his actions must be completely selfish. If he were entirely self interested, he'd likely be more like Bun-Bun. People who want to lord of others generally wish to do so because they truly think they'd do a good job of it.
Jacobs probably manages to justify his policy of torture and enslavement to himself because deep down, he truly believes that he is Doing A Good Thing.
