The fourth panel today (2/28) says "Manifest Services" in the background.
In a font and design which looks very familiar-----it looks like something from Hereti-Corp.
Intentional? Or merely coincidence due to a limited number of fonts on Pete's computer?

Yes I saw that two Pete uses them to make them all official, but the real question is what are they looking for? What is so important in Manifest Services?

Manifest -- among other definitions, the list of things held onboard a ship.
I wonder what sort of manifest this refers to.

Prisoner/slave manifests would be my guess. Calix is looking for his people, along with anyone else he can free from servitude under Sir John Jacobs.

Manifest can mean something along the lines of "obvious" or "seen by all" (as in the case of the American "Manifest Destiny" of the 19th century) because the original meaning was a list of the goods contained aboard a ship.
The second meaning is almost certainly the case here as the means of traveling timeless space are always (except for Lady Noga) by ship.
Given that this is the facility where Jacobs has people tortured for historical purposes, the meaning is horrifically clear.
He's recording the histories of his slaves, who are held as cargo in his ships, and are thus listed on their manifests.

Yes, manifest can mean 'obvious' but what would 'obvious services' mean?

There is a third definition, meaning to gain shape and form in reality. For example "the chaos caused by the election allowed the specter to manifest on the material plane"

Judging from the Manifest Services sign in the room with the lists of people, I'd imagine that it is indeed much like a ship's manifest of cargo.
