It’s a human thing, to lash out at the nearest target when someone they love has been hurt.
I suspect the medical robots are doing a good job, with one problem: they can set bones but are the medicines correct for a human? The robots are programmed for the people of this world, who may have different physiologies.

Kicking the DFA does not seem like a good idea, Riff!
But we know he feels a lot of guilt about the DFAs since 4U City, and it's probably only grown since then. In this case, the DFA has saved them many times, but it hasn't brought them home, his sole endeavor for however long they've been here. Riff blames himself for Torg's condition.
