Monday has something it wants to say to welcome the new year.

"I'M READY FOR YOU, YOU BASTARD! YOU'RE NOT TAKING ME DOWN! VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE!"

Very welcoming indeed.

Oh, wow. I never even considered you can have more than one anima. Not even when they showed you can change animas. The Artist surprises us once again!

Flying cities, hmm? I wonder where the gang is right now.

Also, I note that the Seer wasn't in the chatroom to scrutinize the creepy-looking anima that took a gander at them.

"Why stop at two?" Such a realm of spooky possibility has opened up.

To the base anima-sentient being relationship, we have these perhaps natural variations:
Seers
Those whose anima can impact others
Bedeviled

They created or evolved:
Cosmetically change or augment anima

Who knows what other variations are in store for us?
Have more than one anima

Anima transplants? Selling your anima? Or maybe that’s too speccy.
I also wonder what Maya would do if she learned these strange people come from a world where no one has an anima.

If it's possible to have one, two or four, is it possible to have none and still be alive and sapient?

Perhaps splicers found that they could transplant scrapnimas to a recipient without necessarily stitching them to the recipient's own anima?

How did Maya know it's a teen's room if it wasn't because of the posters?

Anyone else getting the onset of a homealone vibe here?

Zoe: "I'm trying to figure out why the father has two animas."
Maya: "Well I'm glad to see you noticed that."
Every Sluggite: "....wait, what?"

Clearly Zoe is quicker on the uptake than all of us. :zoe:

I'm going to assume things about the room not present in the art here. The art shows an extremely tiny bed and almost no furnishing, but my assumption is that that's just because pete didn't put a lot of time into the less-significant details.

Anyway, "how does one tell a teen's room apart from a child or adult room, other than looking at the posters". First clue is going to be the bed. Children usually have smaller beds, and often have some kind of themed bed or bunk bed. Adults tend to have larger beds, it's also clearly not the master bedroom. Children would also normally have toys all over the room, most teenagers are just as messy, but usually with things like food packages and clothing instead of toys. Guestrooms usually have very spartan decorations and furnishings. Regardless of content, they wouldn't have posters on nearly every wall, any decoration tends to be as generic as possible because one never knows who might be staying there.

Could be an adult housemate's permanent room I guess. There's little besides taste in art that would necessarily distinguish one from the other, but I think that's uncommon enough not to be the first assumption.

Based only on the art, if you removed the posters it could easily be a child's future room. The bed is tiny, there's no stuff of any kind, nearly empty dresser. Like a room that's prepared for someone (a young child, based on the bed) to move into but hasn't actually had anyone living there yet. That doesn't really follow from the dialog, so I'm assuming liberties have been taken with the art.

It's a good question. Maybe something culturally specific to the anima world? Or maybe some sign we don't see?

You guys are way overthinking (that's usually my role). They have the family picture, so they know there's two (young) teenagers - this is not a parent's room, so what does that leave?
