One of these days, maybe I'll get things back to where I want, but Monday is not it. Even though I am double digits today.

Oh? Happy birthday! 10 is a special age! I couldn't fathom what base you're using though.

Yeah, Zoe is pretty naive. Of course, so were we. All the reactions I saw was that they'd be tailing Zoe & the gang -- not fast tracking the DFA movement. Silly us. Of course ganking the gang wouldn't be their first idea! They're too nice.

So that is what Maya needed a bunch of people for.

All I will say, is that "Double Digits" means something different than how most people use it.

I love Riff's anima's grin at the thought of catching a train.

Maybe what they are missing is subtext. We and the gang are treating the anima like translators. With the translator we can understand the message. But without the shared cultural subtext, we don't necessarily know what people mean.

You mean like knowing the words without quite understanding the grammar? I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. This *is* an alien culture, they've evolved with anima, but the gang just got dropped into this world headfirst.

Except for Kiki. She's always spoken what she felt. She's a natural anima.

Right, or, to give another analogy, someone unused to emojis (me) is sent a message with 3 crying faces. Ok, I know those mean "sad" but what are you trying to tell me? We know an anima is sad, but what is it sad about? And beyond the cultural subtext, as you said, is evolutionary.

I'm thinking of more ideas, but I might put them in SRC later...
