Multilated Quotes From Something You Have (Most Likely) Never Seen

It is like a humongous bowl of stew!

I do not think the Prime-Chef would approve of all the seasonings, though.

Oh, I definately do! ... So, what's that thing?

A coded recipe for my cooking comrades back at Teaspoon. I swore to tell them all about Spatula and how things are baking.

Aw, that's so adooooughable!

Ugh! I was not allowed to take my cooking comrades with me to the institute! It is unnerving not knowing if I can trust anyone here!

What about Taco Tuesday? She's... trustworthy! There you go! Plus one comrade! That's a zero to one hundred full jar!

Pretty sure Liver Wurst counts as a negative comrade. Back to an empty jar...

There isn't really a thing as negative comrades! You befriended one comrade and made one enemy!... Okay, it's only been two days. Believe me; you have comrades hiding all around you! You just haven't dug them up yet!

The last panel made all the increasing worry worth it!

But I am quite worried about Torg and Trevor! New problematic societal implications keep popping up.

Advertising?? Mime troupes!?

What abomination will Torg stoop to next? Bagpipe & accordion bands? Multi-level marketing??

Ultimate evil acquired!

Dr. Dastarde sure sounds like a bedeviled. But we'll see. I must go to spec.

I know Torg has a history of acting like an idiot as part of his undercover work...

But damn. I hope he really needs saving this time. I hope he's gone full on idiot.

I don't even need to look at it for it to now be in my head.

There is some indication that he's caught up in the potential for a utopia-like existence in this world.

A good sign that he might inadvertently destroy the world!

...again.

Now, suppose you want to start an artistic troup in this world. Oh, there is no "suppose," millions of people dream about doing something like that. In our world, you have to practice intensely if you want to be a dancer or a singer, and then compete with others for a spot on stage. And people pay to see the show they like the most. But how do you determine that in the anima world?

If people get free food and clothes and housing anyway, then why not be an artist. A poet, a dancer - even if you are in your fifties. Do whatever you like. Many, many people would follow that rule.

Personally I'd never get up before noon. I might work three days a week. Or two days, seeing how little my neighbors work. Maybe I would start out working five days a week - inadequately - but then decrease my workload as most people in the office were just leaving it to me.

That is, if an office was ever built in the first place. Consider how much knowledge, how much technology, how much effort is required to build one. This among people who just get things for free anyway.

Artistry is hard work, as Pete knows, and performing in this world might be even more difficult, as there would be no polite or indirect criticism. No relative or friend would politely say how great something is. You'd know they hated it, or didn't get it. Instant, honest feedback. Competition would still exist, whether or not anything is paid, because you are competing for an audience.

How do we know they get free food etc? I don't remember that.

If people think you don't contribute, then you're an outsider and have to sell your soul to get any food. What we don't know is what counts as contributing and how they keep track of who contributes and who doesn't. Is art a contribution? Science? Is good art a greater contribution than bad art? Is a scientific breakthrough a greater contribution than results that are consistent with the current theories? Do you get more stuff the more you contribute?
