Wednesday is the one! It will lord over this week as the lone survivor of the Weekly Death Tournament. All of my downtrodden weak-days must come to me and bow down before me this instance! ... I SAID! COME HERE AND BOW DOWN TO ME! ... Oh, wait. "Death" Tournament... Right... That would explain why it's so quiet around here... ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Oh! The future?
Oh no, she's instantly talking about coffee. A world fixated on coffee? OH NO!
Woo, exactly 1800 posts! That calls for some coffee. Funny, usually I never notice what post count I'm on.

20-21st century now, it would seem.
I'd wager at least one more time warp before heading home, at this rate. I don't think the tech is there JUUUUST yet....

Whelp, as many expected, we are further along on the this dimension's timeline after the zappo.
It would appear that animas can change over time to reflect what the host's job/situation is since her anima says "Jo" on it and it's a coffee cup. I highly doubt her anima was a cup when it first appeared. Also I wonder when anima first appear. First born? Later? Sooner?!?
Hmmm...I have an idea that might be unsettling as a possibility, but I don't have enough info yet.

What diner hasn't had a group of Ren Fair dorks just drop in.
Heh, cup of Jo(e).
Uh Oh. Riff + Coffee Shop + bizarre world = bad times for Zoe.

Nice job to those who predicted this! There's a lot to be said about the convenience of modern or modernish times! Anima may be a helpful indication that they are not home. They don't have to hunt for a newspaper like most time travelers either!

Poor Daebo came along with them, too.
I guess the question now is ... how long until Torg triggers an angry mob again?

I didn't even notice Zoƫ's comment until now, but it's really funny. "There's no gum under the table. This is not a Jersey diner." Speaking of which, I'd like to have Singapore laws about throwing chewing gum on the ground. Actually, we could get rid of it altogether by now. endplanets wrote: Uh Oh. If we leave 100 babies alone on a deserted island and come back later (once a year should be sufficient), what will their animas look like vs their twin townie babies? vs. City babies? vs. Jungle babies?....Let's see what contexts this world has to offer! It's time to chip away at nature vs nurture! ....before the world develops a need for ethics approval. I WON'T BE STOPPED IN THIS ERA, DAMMIT! At the very least, I want to introduce Sartre to Jo. He'll have a field day.

Hmm. I was expecting they would end up in a Renaissance setting, but this works too.

So on the island, the old-lady tribal leader had an evil red anima.
In the medieval village, the "bedevils" had red animas.
Who will have one in not-Jersey, I wonder?
