Bravely they charge, even while their avatars betray their fear. What a paradox, this, that one can be brave and afraid at the same time. But perhaps not. For only cowardice makes fear impossible - fear does not.
I feel compelled to expand on this, as so many get these wrong:
Bravery - to do what must be done, despite being aware of the risks Fear - to be aware of the risks, and wish to avoid the negative result Foolhardiness - to not allow the risks to have enough impact on one's actions Cowardice - to allow the risks to have too much impact on one's actions
And this leaves aside the all-too-common use of "coward" as a slur against one's enemies. They may be WRONG (or perhaps, you are!), but being wrong does not mean they are cowards. Taking precautions, or striking against weaker targets, likewise does not make one a coward. It is simply tactical. Cowardice would be if you should strike at another target, but instead opt for an easier one. But I digress.

It's impossible to be brave without first being afraid. That is either foolishness: being not afraid when you obviously should, or else there is nothing to be afraid of and the result is simply rational action.
Anyway, the big damn heroes are too late. I was more worried they'd get there and then suffer equipment failure and be shown as the frauds they are, but that could still happen later.

I find myself slightly awed that Pete packs so much feeling into three silent panels. Bravo!

Daebo: First in the charge, first to console. Someone is aspiring to be the next loveable sluggy mascot. Or Jar jar binks. We're rooting for you, Daebo! You can do it! Stay good, Daebo!

I am in hearty agreement with the last two comments.
Thanks for the moving scene on my birthday, Pete (I know that's exactly what you had in mind).
