Tuesday had planned to do something on that foolish day, but it found it didn't have the ability to alter somethings it thought it had the ability to do after all. Anyway, we return to our irregularly scheduled episode of "Zoe the Pincushion". ----- Vote for Sluggy Freelance at Top Web Comics. Please remember to vote everyday!

And what unfortune ta have one of 'em be yer chieften, like that there islander tribe.
Zoë's unusual connecting with the spoirit world be useful, it's a joy ta see, except fer tha knifing.
Remindoir that not all be fun n' games in tha old toims. Ye be without medicine.

Ya. Without antibiotics, a simple little infected scratch can kill you. Hopefully Biyu has worked out some herbal antibiotics.
The anima is red in panel 2, when Zoe is looking at the guy. Then she looks away and the anima looks normal. So does everybody else see it as normal, like with the island leader-lady? But they know the anima is wrong -- "In death may your anima be restored." Hm.

I think we're only getting her perspective, and everyone's just taking Zoe's word for it. Of course, the guy's giving away the game by being pissed off while he's anima's all sad.
But what I want to know is, does he weigh the same as a duck?

...then he must be ...
Gwynn and Kiki are wearing wimples. Zoe isn't. There aren't many other women in scene but I don't see any other wimples. Significant? Whose nose...

That is so very much NOT "I'm so tired and burned out of doing the comic, I'm gonna wind down the story and tie up all loose ends real quick"...
Not that I'm complaining.

I wonder how those wimples – if that's what they're called – are fastened. They look like they're just loosely draped over the head, but that can't work outdoors. The slightest breeze would blow them away.
The dictionaries list "bedevil" only as a verb. The villagers seem to believe that a "bedevil" is possessed by some kind of, well, devil I suppose, but they seem to view the possessed person as a criminal rather than a victim. Their way to expel the devil is apparently to kill the possessed person.

You're right that these are just draped over the head, so they may not be official wimples, but that's the closest word I could think of.

It's interesting that the bug-squisher who can see the demons possessing people has the same size anima as them. Or maybe anima size is an ego thing.
