"Heat signature" indeed. Punzil504 wrote: Open fire indeed. That too. garyfritz wrote: Spirantz wrote: I remember Oasis telling someone that she cant die -- Perma-Death isn't an option for her. Roasting her rebirth facility is now an option, maybe even self-destructing her satellite or, if she has perfect control now, simply electing not to be reborn. I hope she doesn't, but it's all possible.

What are you going to do next? Something spectacular.
Yup, she did. And it would appear she had this all planned.

If Oasis intends to kill all her rebirths, she presumably could do so, by burning the facility and reducing it to ash. It raises the question though of why she wanted to make sure her satellite brain survived if she was just going to remove any means she has of interacting with the outside world. I doubt she's going to do that, but I assume she could.

Yup. New world of possibilities open for her now.
I can’t imagine why she would perma self destruct though. I’d see this as her Phoenix like rebirth.

Oasis has only burnt the insides of spaceships. So oxygen present. But yes, the fire cannon seems magical, because a powerful laser/microwave gun would not ignite the target like that, and a literal fire ray (burning gas) would not reach far through vacuum. So, after all this time, we came back to pyrokinesis?
