This is just a shining example of how Riff is awesome. Riff has gone to other dimensions so many times that I'm not sure what else could be done with it.

He could have come back with a bus full of nuns! That would add to the shine.

Pete amazes us again, this time by going the obvious way (and even rubs it in our faces)! I was sure there would be a months long detour before Riff's return.

Changing topics, is it just me or those refs are wrong?

Or Monicruel! Guess he wasn't gone long enough to find anybody.

Clearly, they need to stop weaponizing DFAs and start weaponizing the remotes.

There wasn't a DFA around when they came back from the Punyverse.

An EMP would fry any electronics in range. You wouldn't "get it working" again.

But apparently that's not how it works in the Sluggyverse. Maybe the Happy Box EMPs are only strong enough to disrupt, not destroy.

It can work that way in our universe too. Check out EMP effects on wikipedia

Quote:
A large and energetic EMP can induce high currents and voltages in the victim unit, temporarily disrupting its function or even permanently damaging it.

As you might recall, the power had already returned to the ship (which is how Riff was able to communicate with the gang in the first place). He just couldn't command the ship because he needed Schlock's biosignature to unlock the commands.

Heh. I did not even notice that at first. Agreed. But man, those hC personnel must sure have strong will powers: I would have eaten that piece of bacon by now!!

I think it's pretty funny that when Montgomery lists off her impressive invention portfolio, she lists the bacon gun BEFORE minor things like a trans-dimensional return remote...

But what actually happened was he got zapped to a random dimension, and right as he was about to return home BAM, he gets hit with a stun ray and thrown in prison. But instead of it being an anime-verse, its, I don't know, a gaming-verse.

Riff is trapped in the gaming-verse for around 2 years fighting XCOM aliens, stealing co-ed red demon underwear, making moral choices from a radial menu, and finding out the cake is a life.

In the end Riff used a time machine to go to (present day + 1 minute) and then the DFA remote to return back home. And then the gaming verse gets totally annihilated by a space ship cat because the gaming verse was being used as a coaster for a really, really, REALLY big mug of beer or something.

I thought that too. Looks like someone out-reffed us (or out Riffed us).

Well done, Pete.

How very John Ronald Reuel of you.

Three years from now, we'll get a flashback panel about it. :)

I expected that Riff would make it back somehow. I did not expect him to be back so soon. After Torg shot up the DFA canon [canonical spelling] I thought he would be unable to use the return remote and would have to find another way home.

That's what we've been told before, yes.

Then what is that thing Riff is carrying?

Where did it ever explicitly say that?

I thought the return remote homed in on the dimension, not the DFA. I see no reason why the homing beacon needs to be locked into the laser part.

And if you can find a ref: Return Remote 2.0. haw haw!
