I just noticed that the strips for the following dates are all missing high-quality (1150 pixel wide) versions:

Hope this helps!

This comic has some blue parts (probably left from the Auto-recut from the Sluggy Reader bot) that might benefit from being recut :

I don't think it's really a conversion error, there, but it seems there is a sort of contradiction in the story.

Here Gwynn say the magic collar only change you if you say the magic word

But here, Zoe never said the magic word :

It could be explained by Gwynn being mistaken and Poopypants somehow messing with her mind, as well as the Collar itself, as he set it to activate at his own convenient time, but I find it strange that in one case The curse took on simply putting the collar, but then here

Kron had to actually say "Shupid".

I don't know if Pete intend for Zoe to accidentally say Shupid, but then forgot. At this point, I don't know where Gwynn go the idea you had to say the word to activate it.

I noticed an error on this one, http://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?cha ... 1998-02-21
As a non-donating user, the size of the comic is 700x262 instead of 900x337 like the rest.

Dunuloa's incantation in the bottom row doesn't show properly.

The first row of the comic for November 28, 2014, appears to be have been cut off—but it also looks exactly like the bottom row from the previous comic.

(This also appears to be true for the comic for February 5, 2015.)

The sound effect overlay is missing from this comic. Since this is the big (Sunday) Cloney fight, those are a lot of missing sound effects!

Panel 1: Where Zoë says "I don't know! Something stupid I think!" there is a blank space in her speech bubble. The original transcript includes "HAAALP!!!", which is now missing.

Panel 11: Where Lâu Pang says "Boy, is my face red," the original transcript also shows "HANG UP" as a sound effect. That 'sound effect' is now missing from the comic.

Welp, that's some dedication to the craft. Do you have the original pages somewhere for comparison, out of curiosity?

You have no idea! [WAAAH!] Just before the pandemic, the person housing NiftySearch made a "minor change" to NiftySearch and the text box for transcribing would no longer accept special characters, like ë in Zoë and Uglëë. I had some personal issues to deal with during the pandemic, so I let it be, thinking that it wouldn't be too hard to go back a couple of years and put them back in once the issue was fixed. AAAARGH. When I finally reached out and got him to correct the textbox, the program had put in a weird question mark for every single special character in all TWENTY-FIVE years of comic transcripts! :bunbun: [WAAAH!]. So I've been slowly making my way through TWENTY-FIVE years of comics and transcripts, replacing special characters (there are more than you'd think...), and cleaning up transcript typos, etc., as I do so. At least the comic is still as entertaining the third or fourth or fifth time through... :kiki: I am currently in the middle of the Nofun adventure in 2012 (lots of â, as in Lâu Pang to correct).

Not original comic pages. That is Pete's department. Although, ironically, I do have an inked storyboard sketch of the comic just prior to "Something stupid I think". As 'Keeper of the Transcripts,' I do have access to all transcript versions through NiftySearch. And although I said "original" transcripts, I did leave the "HAAALP" and the "HANG UP" in the current transcripts, as I trust those will get fixed eventually. I needed to 'update' the transcript to the Cloney fight one anyway, so I'll wait on that one until Pete catches a breath and can fix it.

The October 31, 2014 comic originally had a footer that read:

All catch-phrases are the trademark of their respective heroes. "They are thousands on flying machines and we're mostly running around on the ground punching them one at a time. How was this going to stop the invasion?" is a Registered Trademark of the Captain Hippity Corporation. All Rights Reserved.

Did you mean to remove that footer, or is it missing?

According to the transcripts, the October 07, 1997 comic used to have a question mark over Torg's head in panel 1.

Guess who's doing yet another archive dive over the holidays...

Edit: Hmm. I don't see a question mark in that panel in Megatome 1? I wonder if the transcriber just imagined it, or whether Pete removed it later?

You are correct.

I agree, definitely not in my Megatome.

Don't feel bad, you're not alone. I forget how many dives I've done over the years. In Sluggy, and Schlock Mercenary, and Kevin & Kell, and half a dozen others ...
