Wednesday has to say that it always feels like your "second born" grows up faster than your first one...

This is right out of the ending of The Martian.

That is a very good thing to be referencing.

He's very lucky he didn't lose Chaz in the melee, or Zoe wouldn't have recognized him in time to jump out to intercept him.

But what about Gwynn? She didn't have a tether. Hope she managed to hang on...

I think we're about to literally see the title of the sub-chapter play out.

I'd just like to say that there is no way that Zoë is going to safely catch Torg.

Ahhh! You can do it, Zoe! Whether or not you would be able to in real life doesn't matter to me!

I didn't notice it at first, but you're right--and yes, a worthy reference.

I expected another panel to show us the result, but I think that's because I've been binge-rereading the archives, not having to wait for resolutions.

Pretty much all of this (though I haven't been binge-reading).

That's weird. My post disappeared. :(

To summarize, I had thought about Zoe or Gwynn possibly catching Torg, but figured that might be impossible because of the jet pack rockets. But I didn't consider the jet pack rockets dying before that. So yay! That works out (and I guess I was kind of on the right track). I can't wait to see what happens when they meet up again, it's been so long.
:torg: :zoe:

Hopefully Gwynn is okay in there. I don't think she got sucked out, but maybe she is squished? Although she is in a suit, so that should help, right? What I want to know, though, is WHERE the BunBun/Kiki box ended up.

Yeah, it really seems un-Bun-Bun-like to put himself in a box (with Kiki no less) and just cast his fate to whatever the nerd posse does. He usually prefers to have much more control over his outcomes. Shutting himself in a box that goes into space in a glorified balloon is not his style.

Yes, BUT he did spend a lot of time (not time?) in timeless space ... twice (or more?). One of which was in an incredibly advanced robot. He was also like half a dozen holidays at one point. He is a god, has finally figured that out and might be able to tap into some of those powers now. Bun Bun might just know more than you think.

Then again - he thought that when he went up against Oasis, and we know how that ended.

Yay for good guesses! If I'm not way off base, though, the comic-time since they saw each other is not more than a day - see http://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?chapter=70#2017-07-03. This is a video call, not in person, but I think it still counts.

Oh, I feel bad for not making the connection, but Happy Belated 18th birthday to Leah! Have a wonderful adulthood!
