I don't really understand all this talk about flux weapons being so much more horrible than every other weapon. Making buildings or people disappear doesn't seem all that much worse than blowing them up or setting them on fire.

I think the general idea is that Riff in particular thinks that they're that horrible—because he knows what abuse of flux weapons will lead to.
