It's just generally hard to do stuff from a space suit. That's why most stuff done in space are done in a pressurized cabin; space suits are only used for EVA.
As for oxygen supply, it's a little thing called conservation of detail. The audience usually doesn't care about that sort of thing, and it's practically irrelevant to storytelling, so drawing it is essentially optional.
